PEMBINAAN KARAKTER BUNG HATTA DALAM PEMANTAPAN PRESTASI AKADEMIK DAN PENGUATAN NILAI NILAI MORALITAS TERHADAP SISWA SMAN 1 KOTO XI TARUSAN

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) entitled “Character Building of Bung Hatta in Strengthening Academic Achievement and Moral Values among Students of SMA Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan” aims to instill Bung Hatta’s core values honesty, discipline, hard work, and responsibility as the foundation for moral reinforcement and academic excellence. The main problem identified in the partner school was the decline in learning motivation, lack of discipline, and weak implementation of moral values within the school environment. The program employed observation, interactive lectures, character education games, and moral simulations. A total of 1000 students participated in the activities, organized into several participatory groups. Based on pre- and post-activity evaluations using questionnaires, there was an average increase of 82% in students’ understanding of character values, a 76% improvement in learning motivation, and a 68% rise in students’ active participation in school activities. Furthermore, nine out of ten supervising teachers assessed this activity as highly relevant and beneficial for continuous implementation. This PKM demonstrates that character building based on the exemplary values of national figures such as Bung Hatta is effective in enhancing both morality and academic achievement. The collaboration between universities and schools provides a practical and sustainable model for character education at the secondary education level.crimes
